VOM BARRON'S PRIDE GERMAN SHEPHERD KENNEL
Date: 08/10/09 14:04:07
It was so nice meeting you, your family and all the dogs yesterday. Manny and I couldn't stop talking about how well behaved and sociable all the adult dogs were.
I was imagining a horrendous "barkfest" when we showed up. How nice it was to be able to meet the dogs and see that they were healthy, confident, steady and approachable, while still looking huge and intimidating. To me, that's the perfect description of a German Shepherd.
Can't wait to pick up Brando on the 29th of August. I will call you when the time gets closer.

Hello Michele and Tom,
Just wanted you to know how Brando is getting along at his new home. He is a wonderful puppy, full of drive and spirit. He doesn't like being told no, in fact he vocally expresses his displeasure with gusto! LOL! His second trip to the vet was pretty surprising, I thought if I would have let go of the leash he would have tore up a boxer that came out of one of the back rooms. What a loud ferocious bark for a puppy! As soon as he gets all of his shots we will have to do some socializing out in public, since he never sees anyone but Manny and I. He already knows the commands sit, down and to shake hands but we can't figure out how he learned the word "treat". The first time I used it he came running! LOL He's already 35 lbs at 3 months old and he just loves running around the house. The floors are polished concrete so it is funny to see him try to keep from sliding. Of all the chew toys I bought for him, his favorite is an empty hard plastic sugar container (go figure) which he can hardly get his mouth around but can't stop pushing it around the house. It's gets pretty noisy but he's getting a lot of exercise.
What a special gift you have given us.

Hello Michele and Tom,
Just wanted to say thanks again for our little bundle of joy. He makes us laugh every day and we have to correct him every day because he is a curious and mischievous little boy. He even fusses back when we correct him. LOL!
He follows me around like a shadow, if he can't see me he cries. He likes celery, tomatoes and pickles of all things - lettuce not so much. He eats 1 cup of Iams 3 times a day - he has this habit of grabbing a few pieces of kibble and going off about 10 feet away from his bowl to eat it. I guess he still thinks his littermates are going to get it.
Here he is at nine weeks, I bought a soft natural bristle brush which he'd rather chew on than let me use. He only had a few teetee mistakes in the house but he's pretty good at pooting outside.
The vet check Monday went just fine. They gave me a sample of Advantix to start using on him. I have Interceptor heartworm medicine too.
Talk to ya'll later,

Hi Michele, Tom & Tony:
We absolutely love Sonny to death. We had a rough nite with him last nite because he only took little naps and then wanted to get up and play.He fit right in with the other two old girls. Maggie the rottie put him in his place right away. The pit didn't care. She was playing with him and Maggie played with him a couple of times but if he got to close to her stuff she gave a little growl and he went running. He found the toy box and emptied it and played with toys all n ight. He really liked the back yard. Was a little cautious at first but then went right out and did his duty with the girls. He just barks at the cats. We stopped by our vet on the way home and she just loved him. Said he looked awesome. Thanks again for our sweet puppy! Will keep you updated on his progress.

Hi Michele, Tom & Tony:
Just to update you on Sonny. We've had him for a month now. He weighed 30.6# at the vet today. He is such a funny and smart puppy. I've taught him to sit and down. He is also crate trained. He doesn't do too well on car rides though. He got sick the first time my husband took him to the vet and today when I took him so we will have to work on that. He has also learned how to climb the stairs so I got a baby gate to keep him off of them. He is learning to meet new dogs and people. He'll bark at a Great Dane and run from little poodles. Some people he barks at and some he does not. Yesterday morning as I was fixing my lunch for work I heard him barking and found him sitting at the back door with his leash in his mouth. My rottweiler is just tolerating him but the pit bull absolutely loves him. They play all the time. He is almost as tall as her but weighs about 20# less but he is so submissive to her. She'll get him down and wash his ears and face and he just lays there. He loves to play fetch too. He has such a great personality. All my neighbors just think he is absolutely beautiful. I tell everyone about you and left a card at my vet's office. I will definitely be a repeat customer when the time comes. Thanks again for a wonderful dog.

Here's a picture of Sonny with his ears up. They go up and down still. He looks so pretty with them up though. He is so funny. He has found his tail. He just chases is around in a circle then catches it and stands there with it in his mouth looking at us as if to say "What now?"

Subject: Our new puppy
Everything is going pretty well here. We have named our new family member "Rowdy". It seems to suit him since he is always getting into everything as puppies always do. (Remember Clint Eastwood played "Rowdy Yates" on "Wagon Train" when he was just a kid.)
He seems pretty smart and is learning new things. We are teaching him to sit and wait to be released before going in or out. We are also teaching him to sit and wait for his food.
We usually take him with us whenever we go anywhere to get him used to new sights, sounds, and people. We are very happy with him and think that we made a good choice when we picked you as a breeder. As you know, I am very opinionated as to what makes a good German shepherd!!!
Thanks for everything. Will keep you posted. I will also send you a few pictures when I have more time.
Sorry, I got it wrong. Clint Eastwood was in "Rawhide", not "Wagon Train". Guess my brain is getting a bit mushy!!

Subject: Looking for a friend for Mister
Mister is wonderful. He is so wonderful we would like to begin looking for a companion. It can either be male or female. Unfortunately you know I am picky......Your dogs are BY FAR possess the best temperament! We are looking for one of your dogs in Blk/Tan but with more redness similar to the attached(from your Website).
Mister developed into a Blk/Silver with an amazing face/mask. If you can perform a BOLO with any up coming litters, we will appreciate it.

Just wanted to drop you a line before Christmas. I am glad to see that almost all of Brando's littermates have found new homes. Brando is such a great puppy and I don't think I could have found a more beautiful dog. He learns quickly - even on things he shouldn't pick up, like when to get on the bed when nobody's looking! LOL
He lost his last baby tooth 2 weeks ago. Sheesh ...does he have a lot of beautiful huge white teeth! His ears never drooped or flopped over while he was teething, the vet advised me to give him a couple of tablespoons of cottage cheese with his meals to prevent that...I guess it worked. He still likes to nibble on us though not as hard..thank GOD.
At almost 6 months old he's 70lbs and 25" at the shoulder. He has done great with all the company we've had over since we got him. Even chasing and wrestling with my 3 year old nephew for hours on Thanksgiving - what a sight that was. I was nervous that Brando was going to hurt him but the 3 year old took it all in stride.
Manny and I hope ya'll have a great Christmas holiday and a Happy New Year.
